Glucosamine Sulphate is synthesised salt of gulcosamine. It is a major component of soft tissues, such as cartilage, ligament, tendon and skin. Glucosamine is produced in the body from glucose and an amino acid called glutamine.

It supports and stimulates the manufacture of soft tissue and helps support another product called MSM (a sulphur) into the tissue. As we age our body does not manufacture enough quantities of glucosamine, our tissues begin to feel the wear and tear (arthritis).

It also has other functions, principally in the area of growth and replenishment. It is involved in the formation of tissue of the eyes, skin, bone and helps form synovial fluid, a substance that helps lubricate the joints.

Glucosamine is now being recommended by many professional doctors ahead of many anti-inflammatories, steroids and surgery. Although we know the anti-inflammatories work by reducing swelling and pain, longterm they are actually slowing down the repair and healing process and of course often have bad side effects (often damaging the stomach lining), also recommended alongside MSM as a supplement to be taken after surgery.

Glucosamine Sulphate can be used as a prevention and is also recommended for keen sports athletes, as it stimulates the production of cartilage but also improves joint function and reduces swelling of sports injuries as well as arthritis.

Recommended daily allowance is 2000mg with food and can take 8/12 weeks before improvement.

There are no known side effects and it has no effect on other medicines. I recommend also taking Vitamin C with this product.
